The dragon at the upper part of the carpet symbolizes the Son of Heaven, the Chinese Emperor. Futile rain, condensed from the clouds, are coming from the dragon’s mouth and nostrils, fresh the earth. The fabric of the carpet consists of wool and metal. It is completelyintact and well preserved. It belonged to a Chinese lady who resided in Austria and it is now in private possession.
